English abstract:
The possibility of the continuous measuring of the exhaust gas mass emissions of a vehicle during the real drive on the road opens many new possible applications. Since there are hardly measurements about the emissions of harmful substances and the real fuel consump-tion with different vehicles, traffic situation and drivers, such a system can contribute to the acquirement of base data. Important trial technical information can just be won in the context of the development of vehicles and exhaust emission control system by the combination of different readings like exhaust gas emissions, values of the engine and vehicle speed. The de-vice determines the mass quantity of regulated exhaust emissions from gasoline, LPG and diesel vehicles. The Vienna transport authorities have more than 500 LPG public busses, manufactured by MAN-ÖAF Gräf & Stift, in service (Bruner, 1999). Within the framework of real-life exhaust mass emission determination the exhaust components CO2, CO, HC, NO of low floor busses with LPG-engine as well with diesel engine were systematically compared. The results of the research work are emission rates versus the mean driving speed for typical urban bus lines.
