Kurzfassung englisch:
The influence of microplasticity effects on the overall non-linear behaviour of unidirectional continuously reinforced metal matrix composites is investigated by a finite-element based micromechanics approach using a periodically repeating unit cell. The response under mechanical and thermal loading is modelled, the influence of thermal residual stresses is considered, and shakedown phenomena are studied. The predictions from the numerical computations are compared with experimental data on continuously reinforced boron-aluminum composites and with analytical micromechanics results obtained from mean field approaches.
