English abstract:
Instabilities arising during metal forming processes are one of the topics the authors of this paper have been dealing with in recent years. In the present review paper, two classes of such instability phenomena, namely buckling during cold rolling of strip metal, and necking caused by tensile strains during the axisymmetrical forming of initially cylindrical shells, are considered. Corresponding papers dealing with these phenomena are summarised. The instability phenomena belonging to the first class of problems are treated as structural instabilities while the second group belongs to the field of material instabilities. Analytical estimations, computational simulations and experimental results are presented.
