English abstract:
We present a modular test-bed with high transmitter-receiver isolation for use in teaching, research and development. It is optimized for long-range UHF RFID reader application while the implementation does not require the use of an FPGA or DSP, but only incorporates 8051 based microcontroller. The test-bed outperforms commercially available products that are limited in their read range due to poor transmitter/receiver isolation which was improved in our design. Measurements showed that the return link of commercially available passive RFID tags can be detected and decoded successfully up to a distance of 10 m with active decoupling of transmitter and receiver antenna.
