English abstract:
This thesis deals with an analysis of remuneration on the basis of actual data from the tunnelling project B 1260 Exploration Tunnel Mitterpichling, a continuative exploration for the Koralmtunnel, which is the core of the high capacity railway between Graz and Klagenfurt.
With state-of-the-art exploration methods, the exploration level for tunnelling projects is still limited. The New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) is a very flexible building method, which is highly responsive to unexpected excavation conditions. Consequently, flexible contracting for tunnelling projects that includes a dynamic remuneration model is required for a smooth performance of such projects.
By way of introduction, the above project is described and the usual ways of contracting for cyclic tunnelling are discussed. This is followed by an explanation of the classification according to the Austrian Standard ÖNORM B 2203-1 and the alternative remuneration model Klimt, the Klimt-model on a general level and with respect to this project in particular.
In the analytical part of this thesis, the remuneration ratio according to Klimt will be determined at first. Although effectively 92.2% of the excavation sequences were remunerated after Klimt, a closer look at the so-called basic drivings stated in the contract, however, yields a theoretical remuneration ratio after Klimt of 69.1%. The reasons for the deviations from the Klimt-model in certain sections are fault-zones and geologic conditions, which were not prognosticated. This underlines the importance of exploration, also for the Klimt-model.
Using the so-called basis drivings of the Klimt-model, excavation classes after ÖNORM B 2203-1 are determined. An application of these excavation classes in a second excavation classification on the basis of actual masses with the program TUNNEL:Manager results in a percentage of just 20.8% of appropriate excavation classes. The addition and the optimization of this distribution of excavation classes in a model 2 lead to a distribution of sixteen classes and a percentage of appropriate classes of 91.6% of the excavation sequences. This is a similar percentage as the remuneration percentage after Klimt. A concluding deeper analysis of this model 2 leads to a high relative frequency of changes of the excavation classes (37.3%).
