English abstract:
Organically modified titanium and zirconium alkoxides serve as precursors for sol-gel derived inorganic-organic hybrid materials. Substitution of alkoxo groups by organic ligands lowers reactivity and thus facilitates control of the sol-gel processing steps and also affects the materials structure. Modification of the molecular precursors also allows introducing functional groups that influence the chemical properties and provide reactive sites. Understanding the influence of the organic groups on both chemistry and structure of the modified alkoxide precursors provides the scientific basis for the synthesis of organically modified metal oxide-based materials.
In this contribution, new titanium alkoxo species, modified by simple oximate ligands, will be presented. The products of the reactions between titanium isopropoxide and oximes and the corresponding oxo/alkoxo clusters obtained by partial hydrolysis will be discussed. The structures derived by single crystal X-ray diffraction will be correlated with NMR studies in solution and will be compared with the corresponding zirconium compounds.
