"Landau-level formation in graphene quantum dots";
Talk: Low Temperatur Physics Seminar, Helsinki (invited); 2009-07-29.

English abstract:
We investigate the electronic eigenstates of a graphene flake of realistic size (50 nm diameter) in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field. We find an adiabatic transition from the linear density of states to the Landau level regime. We study the influence of confinement and lattice defects on the formation of Landau levels. Level crossings at Landau levels result in kinks in the evolution of eigenenergies (with increasing magnetic field) due to the unique Landau level structure in graphene. In a recent experiment, these signatures have been used to identify the electron-hole crossover region.
