Kurzfassung englisch:
In the limit of vanishing temperature, the well-known Quantum Drift Diffusion model turns into the DLSS-equation. The latter does no longer include thermal diffusion of second order, but describes the electron motion entirely on the basis of quantum effects, using a non-linear fourth order diffusion operator.
In this talk, we shall present various analytical results on the DLSS equation, from well-posedness of the Cauchy problem to precise estimation of the equilibration rates. Furthermore, extensions of the DLSS equation will be discussed, like the inclusion of a sixth-order correction and the interpolation with a lubrication-type model.
