A laboratory model investigation was conducted in the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory of the Vienna University of Technology of flow in the Danube in the vicinity of the island of Wörth in the Strudengau. A scale of 1:100 was used. The aim of the investigation was to examine the present bed load sedimentation within the entry region of the Hößgang, a navigable reach on one side of the island, and to look for alternative and economic and ecologically-justifiable solutions to minimise deposition there.
