English abstract:
ABSTRACT: In the recent years, a growing awareness about the interdependency between the so called `knowledge economy´, education and global competition has topped the agendas of the worldwide educational discourse. `Innovation´ has established itself as the dominant issue in the economic debate and `life-long learning´ the key idea dominating the human resources and educational debate. The author detects a growing convergence of urban planning and emergent pedagogic trends manifesting itself in new models of `educational infrastructure´. This research studies the inter-relationship between the mega-trends of the `knowledge economy´ and the political, pedagogical, urban and architectural dimension of the evolving mega-trend of `life-long learning´.
