Kurzfassung englisch:
The ionic complex [SiCl3(HMPA)3]+ [Fe(CO)4SiCl3] is presented, product of an ironsilicon bond cleavage in the starting compound cis-Fe(CO)4(SiCl3)2 caused by addition of hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPA). The reaction progress was monitored by 1H, 31P, 13C and 29Si NMR measurements. Thermolysis of the single source precursor cis-Fe(CO)4(SiCl3)2 results in generation of the novel compound Fe2(CO)62-SiCl2)3. Both compounds were unequivocally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Reaction mechanisms are presented based on density functional theory calculations.
