"Convergence of a Geometric Integrator for LLG";
Talk: SIAM Conference on Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science (MS10), Philadelphia (invited); 05-23-2010 - 05-26-2010.

English abstract:
In our talk, we consider a finite element scheme for the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation (LLG)
which describes the dynamics of ferromagnetism. In contrast to previous works, we examine
the LLG including the total magnetic field induced by several physical phenomena described
in terms of exchange energy, anisotropy, stray-field, and exterior field. Besides a strong non-
linearity, a non-convex side-constraint represents a challenging task for the numerical integrator.
Nevertheless, we aim at proving unconditional convergence for the approximation of a weak solution.
