Kurzfassung englisch:
Since the 50s of last century, many thiosemicarbazides have provoked wide interest
for their significant biological and pharmaceutical activities, such as antibacterial,
antiviral, antimalarial, antileprotic and antineoplastic as well as anticancer activity.
The current interest in thiosemicarbazides is due to the presence of various donor
atoms (N, S-donors), which exhibit diverse bonding modes leading to different
structural motifs.
New ligands are prepared and used in this study namely,
1-(aminoN-phenylmethanethio)-4-(pyridine-2-yl)thiosemicarbazide (H2PPS), Nphenyl-
2-(pyridine-2-ylcarbamothioyl) hydrazinecarboxamide (H2PBO), 1-
(amino(thioformyl)-N-phenylform)-4-(pyridine-2-yl)thiosemicarbazide (H2APO) and
1-(aminoN-(pyridine-3-yl)methanethio)-4-(pyridine-yl)thiosemicarbazide (H2PPY).
The preparation of these ligands (H2PPS), (H2PBO), (H2APO), and (H2PPY) and their
metal complexes with some transition metal ions were described. Elemental analyses,
thermal (TG and DTG), spectral (IR, UV-Visible and 1H NMR and ESR) and
magnetic measurements have been used to characterize the isolated solid complexes.
Also, pH-metric, flotation separation technique and biological activity studies were
carried out.
