The thesis reports about detailed investigations on coordination compounds of Chromium(III), Manganese(III), Iron(III), Cobalt(II), Nickel(II), Copper(II), Zink(II), abd further cationic species with polydentate Schiff bases. Such compounds are of great interest due to their outstanding properties, their potential to be used in template synthesis as well as from the point of view of bio-inorganic reactivity. The species where characterized with spectroscopic and thermodynamic methods as well as biological activities
