The thesis reports about detailed investigations on nine biodegradable vegitable oils, their derivatives with and without inorganic additives. These oils have been sulfrized, sulfurized-phosporized as well as co-sulfurized and sulfurized-phosporized using mixtures. Such investigations are of great interest due to increasing needs in high performance and pressure requirements in modern mechanical apparatus (motors, gears, etc.) as well as the wish to use biodegradable oils. Such derivatized oils exhibit outstanding properties and are of potential high applicability. The investigated substances, mixutres and derivatives where characterized with spectroscopic and physicochemical methods.
