English abstract:
The nature of robustness and reliability is presented in this presentation. The exploitation of robustness and reliability is more important for future wireless applications than today and easy to achieve. This is outlined in this presentation. Optimum and robust systems are compared and the relevant figure of merits for robust communication is worked out. The suitability of the spread-spectrum technology for future wireless application is investigated.

In diesem eingeladenen Vortrag wird die Natur von robusten und verlässlichen Kommunikationskonzepten aufgearbeitet. Das große Potential dieser Systeme zur Kapazitätssteigerung für künftige mobile Anwendungen wird beleuchtet. Der Unterschied zwischen optimalen und robusten Übertragungsverfahren wird dargestellt und die relevanten Merkmale und Gütekriterien hergeleitet. Diese Merkmale werden mit Hilfe der Spread-Spectrum Technik verifiziert.
