K. Doblhoff-Dier:
"Time resolved measurement of automotive exhaust mass flow";
Vortrag: Seminar Institut für Allgemeine Physik (IAP), TU Wien; 30.11.2010.

Kurzfassung englisch:
Exhaust gas regulations for automotive engines become increasingly strict. New ecological legislations have already set high demands to measurement technology. Time-resolved measurements of exhaust emission - including the mass flow rate - would provide a better basis for an optimization of the engine and allow even stricter laws.

This talk gives an overview on the issues connected with the time-resolved measurement of automotive exhaust mass flow. The focus is directed on measurement techniques using differential pressure devices. Encountered problems, such as flow and temperature pulsations, are discussed and possible solutions are explained. Results are presented from measurements performed on a flow bench and on an engine in a test bed.
