"Ultra Wideband Wireless Sensor Networks for Healthcare Applications - A Survey";
Report for Wireless Sensor Networks Seminar supervised by Prof. Seung Ho Hong; 2010; 4 pages.

English abstract:
This survey talks about wireless sensor networks for
healthcare applications. Inside hospitals or retirement homes it
is necessary to monitor the patients. For example temperature,
pulmonary function and blood pressure must be monitored,
for further medical analysis and for safety reasons. In case of
an emergency a wireless sensor system must be able to locate
the person and communicate the position to a central node.
The sensors worn by the patients must be lightweight, energy
efficient and especially in hospital environment act interference
free to other vital machines. For this application, ultra wideband
transmitters and receivers are considered, because they are
energy efficient and provide a high datarate; among other
advantages which are introduced in this survey.
