Kurzfassung englisch:
Evaluating the acoustic properties of noise reducing devices is an important prerequisite for efficient noise protection along major transport routes. For determining the insulation properties of noise barriers in situ, the so-called Adrienne method has been introduced in the European Technical Specification CEN/TS 1793-5. In autumn 2009, acoustic measurements were performed by AIT to investigate the influence of different measurement equipment, in particular two amplifier/loudspeaker systems, on the obtained insulation properties of the noise barriers. The device under test was an aluminum noise barrier with a flat surface. In this paper it is shown that, although significant differences in the frequency spectra of the measurements exist, the third octave band results and the single-number ratings described in the Technical Specification provide comparable results.
