In 2002,aninnovativeneutrontime-of-flightfacilitystartedoperationatCERN:n_TOF.Themain
characteristicsthatmakethenewfacilityuniquearethehighinstantaneousneutronflux,high
resolutionandwideenergyrange.Combinedwithstate-of-the-artdetectorsanddataacquisition
system, thesefeatureshaveallowedtocollecthighaccuracyneutroncross-sectiondataonavarietyof
isotopes,manyofwhichradioactive,ofinterestforNuclearAstrophysicsandforapplicationsto
advancedreactortechnologies.Areviewofthemostimportantresultsoncaptureandfissionreactions
obtainedsofaratn_TOFispresented,togetherwithplansfornewmeasurementsrelatedtonuclear
industry.
