English abstract:
The presented Research Training Network "WEMESURF" (Characterisation of WEar MEchanisms and SURFace functionality with regard to life time prediction and quality criteria - from micro to the nano range) is funded within the "Marie Curie Actions - Human Resources and Mobility Activity". A Research Training Network(RTN) consists of a consortium of institutes located in different countries that proposes a common research project. The network started as planned on 1st Nov. 2006 with a total duration of 4 years. Within this time 12 Early Stage Researchers (ESR, PhDfellowships)are appointed for a period of 3 years and 10 Experienced Researchers (ER, doctoral degree) are appointed at least for 12 months. This project provides training and, whenever possible, transfer-of-knowledge (ToK) to the appointed fellows and hosts, for example in highly multidisciplinary and intersectorial work packagesand tasks.
In this paper, some specific results are highlighted as examples for the manifold research work.
