English abstract:
In some special but important practical applications damage of tribosystem component through electric current passage is a crucial issue. One of these fields concern bearings in electrical drive systems. In this paper some principal investigations on different levels are addressed concerning studies of electrical current passage, on the one hand, based on experiments on a model test equipment representing the contact situation between a
ball and raceway, on the other hand. Specific instrumentations allow as well studying damage effects done to bearings by single current pulses, similar to those, e.g., that can be found in modern drive systems comprising frequency converters. The paper presents
methods of testing and analyses as well as examples for damage patterns.
