A. Krall:
"Effective Tool Generation by Architecture Description";
Vortrag: ICSA Colloquium Talk, University of Edinburgh; 30.09.2010.

Kurzfassung englisch:
In this talk we present a novel processor description language, which, in
contrast to most contemporary processor description languages, focuses on a
structural modeling of the processor's hardware organization.
However, an abstract model of the instruction set is automatically derived
using instruction set extraction. We will both give an overview of the whole
system and the generated tools like the compiler and the instruction set
simulator and give some details on some optimizations of the compiler
(general instruction selection using SSA graphs) and the simulator
(efficient handling of interrupts). Finally we will talk about ongoing work
on instruction set extraction and simulation by parallel finite automata.
