"Concept to Optimize Inbound Logistics Traffic by a Transport Oriented Scheduling in the Automotive Industries";
Vortrag: 21st International Conference on Production Research (ICPR 21), Stuttgart; 31.07.2011 - 04.08.2011; in: "Conference Proceedings - Innovation in Product and Production", D. Spath, R. Ilg, T. Krause (Hrg.); (2011), ISBN: 978-3-8396-0293-5; Paper-Nr. IS10.5, 5 S.

Kurzfassung englisch:
Nowadays efficient processes have a high priority in the industry. Within industries namely the automotive
sector, which are affected by a high number of suppliers and customers, optimal workflows are very important.
To raise the efficiency within the logistics a correct disposition of demand and transport are necessary.
Through transport-oriented scheduling this potential savings can be realized. By means of smoothing and
bundling demands in scheduling, transport planning can be optimized resulting in increased utilization,
avoided transports and reduced CO2 emissions. The developed concept was evaluated by means of a
simulation model using real scheduling data.
