English abstract:
The immense interest in nanostructured materials increased steadily over the last decade. These structures, which have a length scale of 1-100 nm, exhibit drastic changes in their physical properties compared to bulk materials. Chemistry, physics, biology and medicine are going hand in hand to synthesize and investigate new materials with novel properties and applications. There are several routes to nanoparticles in a matrix, so-called nanocomposites. These materials are also well known as catalysts for various kinds of reactions.
In this presentation, the focus is on the synthesis of transition metal silicide nanoparticles, well-dispersed in an amorphous matrix (silica, alumina, charcoal) derived from suitable single-source precursors (organometallic compounds, metallopolymers) by thermolyses under nitrogen atmosphere. Additionally, detailed characterizations of precursors and materials were carried out with a large array of methods (EDX, GPC, IR, NMR, N2-sorption, Raman, SQUID, XRD, XPS, XRF) and DFT calculations were performed to gain insights into possible reaction mechanisms.
