English abstract:
A mobile arm support such as the passive systems JAECO WREX or the ARMON device can help persons with neuromuscular weakness to perform activities of daily living autonomously. The presented work focuses on the design of an assistive device that provides weight support for the patients arm and the possibility to block the essential degrees of freedom at defined positions. In clinical application this exoskeleton will be combined with Neuro Muscular Electrical Stimulation to support patients with degenerative neuronal diseases or high level Spinal Cord Injuries.
