English abstract:
Vibration damping for slender beams is achieved by applying nonlinear devices at external points. The latter consist of single nonlinear springs and visco-elastic springpot elements in parallel arrangement. The solution of the underlying boundary value problem is found by means of a problem-oriented decomposition in frequency domain with its main advantageous, that the nonlinearity stays isolated when increasing the degrees of freedom.
