Kurzfassung englisch:
The thesis reports about detailed investigations on Ruthenium(II,III) complexes involving coordination with a variety of Schiff base ligands and different inorganic anc organic ligands. The investigation covers extensive preparative work in the laboratory and detailed characterisation of the obtained species via elemental analysis, spectroscopic and electrochemical methods. Preparation and characterisation are documented well and show very good abilities of the candidate to perform experimental work. All obtained complexes where analysed for their catalytic activity concerning aryl-aryl coupling reactions. Additionally they have been tested concerning their antibacterial and antifungal activity and DNA binding and cleavage ability
