English abstract:
In many cases carbon nanoparticles, such as carbon onions or carbon crystallites in carbon fibers, are built up from a number of layers of more or less periodically structured arrangements of carbon atoms. The meso- or macro-mechanical behavior of materials consisting of or containing such nanoparticles can be significantly influenced by structural instabilbity phenomena at the nano-level. Based on results form atomistic simulations proper continuum mechanics modeling by using plates and shells allows studying the stability behavior even for relatively large nanoparticles.
