Vortrag: CAADRIA-conference (CAAD-Research in Asia), Chennai, India; 25.04.2012 - 28.04.2012; in: "Beyond Codes and Pixels- Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia", The Association for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA), Hong Kong (2012), ISBN: 978-988-19026-3-4; S. 317 - 326.

Kurzfassung deutsch:
Customization is one of the most important topics in architecture, as architects generally work on individual prototypes instead of mass-produced designs. By using customized design and fabrication tools, architects are able to individually respond to challenges, instead of relying on universal software tools. This paper discusses existing, customizable software for robotic fabrication and proposes new software components for interfacing industrial robots with physical computing microcontrollers, thereby allowing the customization of physical tools for industrial robots. By defining both digital and physical tools, architects are able to gain full control over design to fabrication.
