Synopsis Atomic-orbital close-coupling calculations of neon and argon ions colliding with H(1s) will be presented.
The high principal quantum numbers n that need to be included in the expansion of the wavefunction of the active
electron in the ion center make very large basis sets necessary. The resulting state resolved charge exchange and
ionisation cross sections are of special interest for nuclear fusion research.
