Kurzfassung englisch:
In this paper an impedance control scheme for rotatory test beds is presented. It allows for realistic testing of rotating machinery such as combustion engines through hardware-in-the-loop simulation. A laboratory setup mirroring a rotatory test bed on a small scale was designed and is used to verify the developed control scheme. Since an accurate test bed model is of vital importance to effectively deal with oscillations arising on the test bed, a plant model for the laboratory setup is presented. A so-called impedance model emulates real world operating conditions and delivers current and future loads to be imposed on the unit under test. Two possible control structures
called cascaded impedance control and integrated impedance control are set forth. Subsequently a model predictive controller is designed for both and implemented on the laboratory setup. Finally simulation results as well as experimental results are shown and illustrate the efficiency of the developed control scheme.
