English abstract:
Williams syndrome (WS) is a genetic disorder linked to a microdeletion in chromosome 7 involving elastin
gene resulting in vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation, vascular fibrosis and impaired response to mechanical
stress. Affected individuals can display aortic supravalvular stenosis, arterial stenosis and hypertension. Few and
conflicting are the data available on arterial function in these patients. Aim of this study was to evaluate the dynamic
behavior of two indexes of arterial stiffness (Aix and Pulse wave velocity, bPWV) during the 24 h, together with 24-h
ambulatory and central blood pressure in WS children
