English abstract:
Differential scanning calorimetry is widely used in the complex microstructure evolution studies of heat-treatable Al-alloys. Precipitation and dissolution of metastable and stable phases can be revealed as exothermic and endothermic peaks during heat evolution scanning.
In the present work, precipitation sequence of Al-Cu alloys during continuous and interrupted heating is analyzed by DSC. Thermo-kinetic computer simulations of the same DSC cycles are carried out with the software Matcalc and compared with experimental DSC results. Microstructures at some specific point on DSC curves, achieved by interrupted quenching, are further characterized with TEM/HRTEM and/or high angular dark field STEM (HAAD STEM) to obtain volume fraction, mean radii and number density of precipitates for comparison with our simulations.
