Simplicial sets are a ``combinatorial" category that is equivalent to the category of CW-complexes. It has been invented by Eilenberg-Zilber and fully developed by Daniel Kan.

Simpliziale Mengen gehen auf Eilenberg und vorallem Daniel Kan zurück. Sie sind das Werkzeug für eine kombinatorische Homotopietheorie von CW-Komplexen.
