An intelligent building systems control regime may be expected to be forward-looking or predictive. Since its initial introduction some two decades ago, the concept of simulation-based predictive building systems control has been implemented and evaluated both virtually and in reality. However, to be widely adopted, further progress in a number of areas are necessary, including: i)simulation model calibration, ii) building monitoring, iii) microclimatic forecasting,
iv) occupancy modeling, v) control state space navigation, vi) dynamic model actualization, and vii) scalable multi-domain control logic distribution.
