Kurzfassung englisch:
Here we present first steps towards a novel, model-independent approach in data analysis of ultra-small-angle scattering with polarized neutrons (USANSPOL). This technique allows for the investigation of novel magnetic materials, accessing domains in the micrometre range. Initially, we provide insight into the state-of-the-art of USANSPOL to understand the importance of model-independent data analyis. Furthermore, first steps and preliminary results of a suchlike method are presented.
In order to withdraw mathematical models, data fitting has to be done completely model-independent whereas the deconvolution of the rocking curve from the scattering curve of such an ill-posed problem cannot be solved with standard methods. Hence, new methods had to be developed. This model-independent procedure for USANSPOL experiments has in fact never been done before.
The lack of references led to two completely independent and different approaches to the prolem of data fitting and deconvolution, respectively, to double check the feasibility of this novel method. Similar outcomes of both methods legitimate this new approach. Furthermore, qualitative predictions of the samples used can be made.
