English abstract:
In this paper we describe the main characteristics and the most relevant results obtained at the neutron Time-Of-Flight (n_TOF) facility. This experiment is running at CERN in Geneva and concern the measurements of the neutron capture and neutron fission cross sections. In particular we illustrate the mechanisms of neutron production, the characteristics of the neutron beam, the main experimental apparata and the data analysis procedures. Finally we review the most important results with particular care to the implications in the Nuclear Astrophysics and the experimental program planned for the next years.

Keywords:
