English abstract:
This paper reports on thermal performance analyses carried out in five traditional residential buildings in Kosovo known as "Kulla". The survey was performed over a one year period. Measurements of
indoor environmental parameters and parametric simulation runs were deployed to capture existing conditions and explore possible improvements. Thermal comfort assessments suggest that the indoor
environments in Kullas during summer could be perceived as slightly cool (mean PMV = -0.1; mean PPD = 16 %). Simulations of existing Kulla conditions (using standard user assumptions) point to annual heating energy demands of up to 196 kWh.m-2, which could be reduced by 75% via proper thermal improvement measures.
