"Detailed Analysis of Permanent Magnets by means of Free Field Measurements";

English abstract:
A measurement technique is depicted that allows one to analyze the direction as well as the distribution of the remanence (or remanent magnetization) of permanent magnets. To this end, the magnetic field is measured at several positions around the magnet, and the magnet is subdivided into multiple cells. Then, an efficient method is presented how the remanence vectors of these cells are computed from the measurement values by means of finite element simulations. Finally, the measurement technique is applied to permanent magnets
used in magnetically biased chokes which demonstrates the new possibilities and the practical applicability.
