"Phase transformation kinetics of a β metastable Ti-alloy";

English abstract:
The mechanical properties of metastable β titanium alloys are determined by the internal architecture of the constituents (α, β and, eventually, metastable phases) and their properties. Phase
transformations involving metastable phases such as α″ and ω are determinant in the formation of the α phase. A correct understanding of these transformations and their kinetics are required for the optimization of functional alloy design. Differently to other studies based on isothermal tests, in situ high-energy synchrotron diffraction experiments performed during continuous heating provides a continuous description of the phase transformations.
