Kurzfassung englisch:
Today many different kind of surface modification techniques are applying on dental implant surfaces to improve surface specifications and there are many different specific investigations for these techniques to consider techniques from various aspects. All of these investigations aim improving tissue attachment over the implant surfaces to provide high biomechanical properties and better biocompatibility.
Controlling of implant surfaces in the manufacturing stage with 2D and 3D techniques
are critical for final product. 2D inspection methods generally gives information for roughness specifications (for example; Ra, Rq, Rz, Rt,etc). 3D techniques are mostly giving information about geometrical specifications of surface topography (for example; pits and hills). In this study, different surface modifications applied dental implants were investigated. In the 2D investigation stage, repetitive surface measurements applied and Ra values obtained. In the 3D investigation stage opticmicroscope and scanning electron microscope were used to investigate surface texture. Concurrently implant manufacturing procedure was investigated step by step to highlight the importance of surface characterization and quality controls in the manufacturing step.
