English abstract:
Cost efficiency and the ecological footprint are becoming more important for construction business. In conjunction with this development, low pressure grouting as a cost-effective and environmentally compatible method for soil improvement is becoming more and more important. In the scope of a research project testing methods for grouting materials and for grouted soil are investigated at Vienna University of Technology.
Based on extensive laboratory testing of cement-based grouts new laboratory tests and quality criteria have been developed with the objective to improve the state of the art of quality assurance. The new methods comprise the most important values such as viscosity, yield value, initial set, and gelation time. Based on these new methods general investigations on cement-based grouts were undertaken to improve the understanding of the rheological and mechanical behaviour of different grouting materials and for grouted soil.
The results of investigations and in particular of laboratory tests will be presented and discussed in the paper.
