Kurzfassung englisch:
Acoustic emission (AE) signals from surfaces in
tribological contact can be used for detection of changes
in the bodies in contact. The collected signal so hides
information which can be associated to different events,
e.g., cracks, scratches, roughness. One of the major
challenges is the possibility to separate the portions of
the signal which belong to such events.
A wavelet packet decomposition in the
multiresolution analysis theory frame is used to analyze
acoustic emission signals for failure detection in
components monitoring.
