The lecture gives a critical assessment of the political, economic and social dynamics at stake in the cross-border region of Vienna-Bratislava. A particular attention is drawn to the initiatives and programmes that have contributed to the emergence of a coherent framework of how to develop this large metropolitan area and the implementation of such a vision.
