Kurzfassung englisch:
The protection of space and environment and the rational use of land is one of the main objectives of Spatial Planning systems. Thus the science of Planning developed in the last decade´s methods and instruments to organise the use and protection of land. In this regard land use planes have a significant function. Hand in hand a legal and institutional framework was elaborated to apply planning methods and instruments. The paper describes the Spatial Planning system in Austria, shows the differences in particular to the land management system in Serbia and discuss approaches for further improvement of the legal and institutional framework.
