Compact groups possessing an abelian normal subgroup on which the group acts by scalars are classified. Results of the coauthors become extended.
German abstract:
Kompakte Gruppen mit abelschem Normalteiler, auf dem die Gruppe skalar operiert, werden klassifiziert. Arbeit der beiden Koautoren wird etwas verallgemeinert.
