English abstract:
In this paper we present comparison measurements of the same switched beam antenna which were performed in our anechoic chamber. The antenna itself is constructed on a printed circuit board which needs to be held in place during pattern measurements. The antenna was supported by a combination of a fiberglass reinforced dielectric column and a foam spacer. Near field antenna measurements for different heights of the dielectric column and the foam spacer were performed. We compare the far field patterns corresponding to the different mounting configurations and show that nonmetallic dielectric support structures serverely distort the measured antenna patterns.
