Kurzfassung englisch:
Building performance design often uses deterministic simulations. Since many influencing parameters are generally inherently uncertain, this may lead to unreliable predictions of design impact and hence excessive deviations between desifn and reality. Such excessive deviations are undesirable, both from the point of view of the building occupant and of socienty in general: inhabitants, for example, require confidence in the return on their investments in energy efficiency, whereas governments want guarantees that their subsidy programs have a correct impact. Hence, the overall aims of this researh are (1) the developement of a probalistic robust design method to incorporate these uncertainities and (2) its application on the design of comfortable and affordable robust low-energy dwellings.
