"A short history of HCI";

English abstract:
Human Computer Interaction has always been concerned to design technologies and interactions from a people-centred perspective. However what this means has changed radically over the years - each new computing paradigm brings different challenges for interpreting what aspects of H (human), C (computer) and I (interaction) matter. In this talk, I will present a broad brush history of HCI, showing its roots in middle of the 20th century and charting how its concerns, methods and related inter-disciplinary connections have evolved as new technologies evolve and move from the basement, to the office and desktop, and into everyday life.
